Creating a better world for a better future.
Who We Are.
We are a non-profit organization composed of creatives and engineers. Our team is collectively working to provide cost-effective, achievable solutions for a more sustainable future.
We know it’s difficult to find reliable, nuanced information on effective green solutions and that making an impact on the individual scale can seem daunting. Odd Plant is here to break down the facts and present solutions that will fit into your life, not take it over.
-
Although no simple, universally accepted definition of sustainability exists, the general intent is “to create and maintain conditions, under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony, that permit fulfilling the social, economic and environmental requirements of present and future generations” (Stahl and Bridges 2013).
-
We study modern societies, environments, and economies to identify their core problems and develop effective solutions that easily integrate into everyday life.
-
“Sustainable development” must also consider social equity and economic development. We strive to protect and restore both the environment and affected communities.

Aeroponic Farming to Combat Food Insecurity
Odd Plant uses aeroponics, a technique that allows crops to be grown without soil and with 90% less water than traditional farming. This allows us to grow a larger quantity of fresh produce all year round with minimal resources and no pesticides.
We work with local organizations and food banks to distribute fresh produce that we grow in-house.

Dispoze: Tools for a Circular Economy
According to the EPA, the United States produces the most municipal solid waste per person out of all industrialized nations. In addition to this statistic, it is estimated that only about 8% of all plastics are actually being recycled. This is mostly due to the U.S. lacking a federal recycling program.
Dispoze exists to divert waste from landfills while simultaneously trying to send renewable materials to the right facilities for processing.
Recycling compliance should be easy to achieve, not buried under misinformation.

Native Habitat Restoration
“There are many benefits of landscaping and gardening with native plants including conserving water, protecting soil from erosion, and creating habitat and providing food for many different animals including birds, pollinators, and small mammals. Simply by growing native plants gardeners can bring enormous beauty to a community and joy to its residents. In addition, native plants are easy-to-grow and require minimal maintenance.” (USDA).
Native landscapes and regular maintenance can also protect your home from wildfires.
